Prayer
Prayer life is foundational to our church life.
We pray on every occasion we come together, whether it's the whole church on a Sunday morning, a mid-week Life Group, a business meeting of the Trustees, or just some friends chatting.
In addition we have two dedicated prayer groups:
The Winslow Prayers who meet once a month. They are a group of Christians representing the different church denominations in Winslow, praying for the many needs and issues within the town.
We stand on the words in 2 Chronicles 7:14 which say: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Wednesday morning prayer is specifically to pray for healing, that's healing in it's widest sense: physical, relational and spiritual. It starts at 5.45am (which admittedly doesn't render it too popular!) but there is something special about praying for people before they're awake, asking God to bless their day even before they've started it.
It's an EasyJet, no frills kind of group: turn up and pray, no chat and no drinks (unless you bring your own!). It's good, give it a try - guaranteed feeling of righteousness every week!!!!
